10th Daintree Property Saved
Another piece of the World Heritage value Daintree rainforest was been protected forever when on the 6th of May Rainforest Rescue purchased a 10th property through the Daintree Buy Back and Protect Forever Project.
The property, situated on the Bailey’s Creek section of Cape Tribulation Road is bounded on two sides by the Daintree National Park and prevents another housing development impacting on land that is classified as “essential habitat for the endangered Cassowary”. 11th Daintree Property ready to be Saved
In seeking to escalate our protection of the Daintree we have identified Lot 29 Bailey’s Creek Road as the preferred property for our next purchase. The owner are wanting to see the rainforest preserved and would be very pleased to see the property sold to Rainforest Rescue. They are asking less than the market value, offering the property for sale to us for $85,000. Rainforest Rescue has taken an option to purchase the property that will expire in 90 days. With your help, during this time we aim to raise the required funds and proceed to purchase in August.
As the end of the financial year approaches your tax-deductible donation will be a timely and very welcome contribution to protecting the Daintree forever.
