This summer we've been ironing out the details of the Alumni Association's Summer 2008 trip to the Mediterranean. We're pulling together the final details on an exciting trip. Watch your mailboxes for the big announcement of the finalized itinerary. In the meantime, mark your calendar for Saturday October, 13—Homecoming. This We're dedicating the new baseball diamond, and you'll definitely want to be here when we unveil the architect's drawings of what FPU will look like over the next 15 years.

Scholars Speak—Civility Must Triumph Over Cynicism

We've got problems here in the San Joaquin Valley. Everybody knows that, but how do we solve them?
What about getting together the folks affected by a problem and talking about it? Passionately, because we care. Respectfully, because we know that those who disagree with us over solutions care just as much as we do.
As simple, or crazy, as that sounds, it's FPU President D. Merrill Ewert's suggestion in this special summer Scholars Speak.
Homecoming 2007
The intramural games are back by popular demand! Make sure you and your family are at FPU on Saturday, October 13. Be among the first to hear about FPU's plans for the future and see the architect's drawings of our new Fine Arts Center. You'll also meet current students, help us dedicate the new baseball diamond, and catch up with your classmates. And make sure you join us for dinner where we'll give away a spot on our January cruise to Ensenada! Watch your mailbox for your invitation in September.
FPU Alumni Business Networking Group
We had a great time at the first Alumni Business Networking Group. Nearly 20 alumni met to encourage one another and make business connections. We will continue meeting in Fresno and plan to expand to Visalia and Bakersfield, but we need your help to grow! 2008 Alumni Travel
Alumni & friends have two opportunities to travel with FPU in 2008:
Ensenada: (View photos from the 2007 cruise) This three-night cruise departs from Long Beach on Friday, January 11, 2008, and returns Monday, January 14. View the itinerary and reservation information.
Mediterranean: This summer 2008 excursion will highlight the wonders of the Ancient World. Bring your family to explore Italy, walk in Paul's steps in Ephesus and enjoy the crystal waters of the Mediterranean. Call David Bacci at 559-453-2237 or email alumni@fresno.edu with questions.
Faith Night at Chukchansi Park
It's time for the annual Faith Night at Chukchansi Park. Bring your family to enjoy great music by Hawk Nelson and The Send and watch the Grizzlies take on the Salt Lake Bees. FPU will have a booth at the event, so make sure you stop by to meet our baseball team and Sunny the Sunbird—you can also enter for your chance to win an iPod.
