Inside this issue... What's Your Life Radius? Hi <<First Name>>, The other day I realized that last summer’s gas pricing affected my “radius of life.” That's the geographic area within which most of my life activity occurs. I lead a busy life, but it’s within a fairly small area. Maybe you're finding the same in your life. Do you plan trips to the grocery store to coincide with trips to church? On days you have activities after work, do you stay at the office rather than make the trip home? Do you find yourself cutting back on weekend trips to see friends or visit favorite places? I’m cutting corners other ways too. I prepare meals to take to work, rather than going out for lunch as often. I rely more on my DVD rental club membership, and don’t go to the theater as often to see movies. (Although it’s hard to beat the $4.75 first show of the day price for Cinemark theaters in Dallas) We're in tough economic times, and no one knows what this coming year will hold. As tempting as it may be to panic and do something crazy, my current plan is to keep reducing expenses, try to increase income in small ways (recycling plastic?), and keep my eyes on Jesus. No matter what changes are coming our way, He will never change. Industry Interview Dave Stotts' History Lesson by Angela Walker After attending Abilene Christian University in the Texas Panhandle, Dave Stotts hopped around a few more places before settling down in the Dallas Metroplex area. Married to Rebekah and the father of 2 sons (Seth and Luke), his time is divided between video post-production, theological studies and making history alive and entertaining. Can you start off by telling us how the Drive Thru History concept started? Dave: My education and background is in video production. I work with Jim Fitzgerald of Coldwater Media, and we've traveled extensively around the world doing different projects. If you've ever done that, you know it can get pretty intense. We used to do what we could to lighten things up and have fun, because you have to enjoy yourself, or how can you keep doing it? So we'd always goof around and laugh a lot. One trip we got particularly crazy and Jim suggested putting me in front of the camera to see if we could recapture some of our moments in an actual show with real content. Hotel for Dogs Dove Family-Approved Suitable for all ages

Theatrical Release: 1/16/2009
Dove Review: When a brother and a sister, that are in the "system", try to keep their dog and stay together, some comical situations are bound to happen. Andi and Bruce go outside the rules to try and keep their dog, Friday. In the process they add more pets and make some good friendships. Although the group gets into trouble, they want what is best for everyone. Some children do not get the best of parents whether they are birth parents, adoptive parents or foster parents. This movie does not show the best side of the foster system. But, Andi and Bruce try to overcome their situation so they can stay together. They may not always follow the rules but in their hearts they are trying to do something good not only for themselves but for the dogs that have become family to them. "Hotel for Dogs" is a heartwarming comedy that will have you laughing out loud at times. Then at other times you may want to get the Kleenex. This is a cute lovable movie for the pet lover and the entire family. The Dove Foundation is proud to award the Dove Seal to this production. |
