Inside this issue... Change Your PerspectiveHi <<First Name>>, Friends of mine moved into a new home up on a hill. From their back porch, the view is spectacular. You can see the orchards, ranches and neighboring towns. On a clear day, coastal mountains more than 100 miles away are visible.
On moving day, after a few hours of loading and unloading we sat outside for a few moments and drank it all in. It was quiet and peaceful without the noise of street traffic. The air was clearer and the pace of life slower.
When my vision shrinks to the immediate area around me, I see what needs to be done today and tomorrow, but not too far beyond that. I also find myself doing the same things in the same ways.
When I'm up on a hill I see things differently. What was so big on the ground is just part of the patchwork of life. Bumpy roads look smooth, and that stop sign where I sat and impatiently waited for traffic to clear isn't even visible from here.
When I have the bigger view a fresh perspective brings, I'm free to dream again, to think how life can be different. If you're feeling like a gerbil on a spinning wheel, go climb a hill or visit the ocean. Go some place where the horizons are bigger than your normal surroundings and get off of that wheel.

GodHonoringMovies: Well John, please tell us how you got interested in filmmaking and how you got started.
John Moore: You know that’s as much a question to me as “What was the defining moment of your life when you became converted?” There’s no specific point to which I can point. No day, no moment, nopinnacle of that interest. I know I had been interested in filmmaking for about a year and a half by the time we came to the film festival in 2004, and I’ve always been fascinated with the telling of stories, stories well told in literature, primarily. In 2004 we came to the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival where my father and I saw something that was quite revolutionary. And since that time... [ Read more... ]
