Do your house decorations change with the seasons? My friend Carol has great seasonal decorations. You can tell what time of year it is by what’s on display in her home. She doesn’t go overboard but tastefully adds a vignette here and there to celebrate fall. Other houses have large inflatable pumpkins and ghosts in their lawns because Hallmark tells us it's Halloween season. After that, we're on a fast-track to Christmas.

It’s not too early to begin your Christmas shopping. Today we opened up the Fox Faith Christmas store. For the rest of the Christmas shopping season (through December 17th), when you purchase at least 2 of these DVDs, you'll pay only $10 each. At that price, you can stuff all the stockings on your list!

If you live in the South, be sure to find a theater showing Billy: The Early Years, about evangelist Billy Graham. I plan to see The Secret Life of Bees, which opens this weekend. And if you haven’t seen Fireproof yet, what are you waiting for? Go see it while it’s still in theaters.

Dove Review:
First of all, I have to admit this film is much different than I had anticipated. All the previews on TV portray it as strictly a horror film. What people may not realize is that it’s also a courtroom drama. These two genres are blended together masterfully. This film, based on a true story, is certainly one I will never forget.
 

My first compliment goes to the cinematography. This film is successful in frightening audiences; not by special effects and over the top grotesque elements, but rather by the colors, lighting, and camera work. These elements, combined with excellent performances by Laura Linney and Jennifer Carpenter and great writing, kept me on the edge of my seat. I want to warn people that, while Dove did approve this movie, discretion must be used. This film may be too intense for some people due to the intense subject matter. It's a successful mixture of horror and drama, and I found it greatly entertaining.
