Hi <<First Name>>, Are you computer co-dependent? Do you check e-mail before your morning coffee? When you make travel arrangements do you require Internet access?
Today we lost our server connection at the office. We lost access to our website, e-mail and instant messaging. I didn’t know what to do.
Most of my day is spent communicating with people via e-mail and researching films and news. If I don’t have Internet access, I can’t do my work!
I am computer co-dependent. When our connection is restored, I’m going to find a recovery program for my problem.
Part of my job is also watching movies, and there are some great ones coming out in theaters and on DVD. In theaters this weekend, Fireproof expands to more than 1000 theaters and hopes to stay in the top 10 box office sales. New to theaters is Billy: The Early Years, a film about evangelist Billy Graham. (Read our interview with producer Bill McKay).
Saving God is new to DVD this week. It’s the story of a former convict determined to save his father’s church and reach out to gang members and drug dealers. This gritty film realistically portrays the struggle to get out of a life that seems to have no escape button.
It’s a great weekend for entertainment, so break away from the computer and watch a new film. There is help for you – and me!

Industry Interview Producer Bill McKay: by Angela Walker Documentary filmmaker, author and national researcher, Bill McKay’s media and entertainment background span more than 30 years. (With actor Martin Landau) His most recent film Billy: The Early Years, is scheduled for national release on October 10. How did you become involved in the Billy Graham film project?
Bill: I did a documentary on Dr. Graham’s life 7 or 8 years ago, and the director I used on the project stayed after me for a long time to produce a feature film on Dr. Graham’s life.
I was coming back from Israel after one of our trips to shoot Against All Odds, and I was about an hour outside of LAX. Suddenly, the words just literally sliced through my mind: Billy: The Early Years. Within the next hour as we were on approach to LAX, I wrote the entire story in my mind.

Saving God: One Soul at a Time Dove Family-Approved Recommended for ages 12 and over Dove Review: This is one well written, directed and acted production. Pastor Armstrong Cane returns to his minister-father's old church, having served fifteen years in prison as a result of killing a man in anger as they struggled with a knife. His dad is gone now but Pastor Cane is determined to move the church forward. He comes across a young likable man named Norris, who never-the-less is selling drugs. Pastor Cane begins to fight for his soul but Norris' drug pusher, a man called Blaze, doesn't want to let him go. This drama takes several turns in the plot but despite some hardships for everyone who knows Norris, the surprise ending not only is a testament to the fact that no one is past saving, but it also demonstrates that, when he is tested, Pastor Cane comes through as having truly changed from the man he was. I enjoyed watching this very much. It is a good story and well made. Dove happily awards our Seal to this film and we award it five Doves, our highest rating.
