Feeding the Soul

I love spring! Longer days, sunnny breezes, lawn mowers and children's laughter are all signs that spring has finally arrived! It's a time of renewal.
So many blessings have come into my life since this time last year. I'm enjoying our new granddaughter (Inara), reading, leading breakfast clubs or
detox groups, creating a holistic skin care line, teaching
lifestyle detoxification, and just enjoying life!
Recently, I revived a few favorite hobbies - sewing, writing, jigsaw puzzles, and ...
gardening, After all, what self-respecting holistic foodie doesn't want to grow their own food?
So after days of constructing beds, sheet mulching and finding the perfect soil, the plants were entrusted to the earth. Beets, garlic, broccoli, lettuce, sugar snap peas, onions, fennel, zucchini, strawberries, cabbage, lettuce, lavender, chamomile, and lemonbalm now dance in the spring air! There's nothing like the digging ones fingers into the naked earth, the warmth of the sun on your face, watching ladybugs and butterflies, and nature's amazing fragrances.
In the first three weeks, we were blessed with life-giving rain and now 5 weeks later the garden food is emerging! Yet the most miraculous part - the harvest - is still to be experienced!. The joy of walking barefoot through the garden to pluck meaty red tomatoes (yep, planted those too!) for the day's salad, and biting into their sun-warmed juiciness, is extremely satisfying to the soul.
Spring is a natural time to start anew. Rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit. Take your health to the next level. Let's hold hands and spring forward together.
