The House Is Up!

Two years ago Phil and Polly called a Realtor who came and looked at their home.

"Put some grass in the back yard," she advised. "Fresh coat of paint on the outside. Upgrade the master bedroom closet." We did a couple of those things and because of God's mysterious timing have been able to enjoy the advised-upgrades for some time. (Grass in Tucson, if you didn't know, is a little luxury.)

Since then, Phil and Polly have also painted the whole interior of the house, added a sink in the kids bathroom, and added new stainless steel appliances in the kitchen.

This all was in anticipation of God providing a certain level of fund raising (we had prayed for 75%). Now, we're very close and have listed the house just this week.

Will you join Phil and Polly in praying for a buyer for the home? The sooner it sells, the sooner they can move to South Jersey.

Meanwhile, if you know anyone looking for a home in Tucson, let them know!

Heartbreak Hotel

Polly wrote a short essay on a funny Henry-child anecdote. Click here to read what she says about Grace, our fifth child, and Grace's "broken heart."

Where is Gloucester County?

From the Mouths of Babes...

Reading part of this article to the children at dinner recently, we struck up a fascinating discussion about money. Asked why money is important, Noah (7) said, "Because you can start a new church." Fitch (11), when asked what he's learned from his parents about money, said, "Save, save, save. Budget, budget, budget." Hmm.

Fundraising Update
The Gloucester County Church Plant is a "scratch" church plant. There is no one sponsor nor is there a well-established launch team.
This requires a substantial amount of the first four years of the new church's budget to be raised from churches, institutions, and people from outside the church itself.
Currently, GCCP has 70% of the outside support needed for the next four years. GCCP plans to be fully self-supoprting by year five (in 2013). Your gifts are tax deductible and can be given in several ways:
  • one-time gifts can be made online here.
  • download a pledge card here and maild to Mission to North America at: 1700 N. Brown Road, Ste., 101, Lawrenceville GA 30043
  • fax a pledge card to (678) 825-1201
  • scan your pledge card and send to Kathy.
Preaching Update
Phil continues to serve as the interim pastor at Desert Springs PCA in Tucson. He preaches there most Sundays. Here are links to his two most recent sermons:
