 Head-turning Blondes... We asked senior colorist, Amy to describe the best way to keep your blonde highlights looking their very best this summer. This is what she had to say.
In order to achieve and maintain creamy, rich blondes with a lot of dimension in the summer months, we recommend getting a Hair Facial before your color. Hair Facials cleanse and exfoliate the hair using gel crystals ridding the hair of minerals, chlorine, and other environmental factors. At Maxime, we pride ourselves on maintaining the integrity of the hair. We analyze each guest’s hair to determine what it is lacking and add back what is needed whether that be collegan, keratin, protein or shea butter, leaving the hair looking and feeling better and allowing the hair to hold the color longer.
There are many options and techniques used for becoming a natural blonde. One technique called flying colors allows us to paint the hair freehand making the color look as if the sun has lightened the hair naturally. This technique grows in looking very natural and is never overdone.
If you are looking to go blonde over the next few months, keep these tips in mind. If you have blue eyes or you were blonde as a child, you will be able to achieve blonde results very easily. Individuals with light eyes and paler complexions will look best with cooler, creamy blonde tones. People with dark eyes and a deeper complexion will look best with golden, caramel and honey tones of blonde.
 Ronit’s Corner... Last week we dropped Gabi off on the Cape and since we knew we had to pick her up in couple hours, we decided to see what was happening in Plymouth for dining experiences. Our long-time Maxime guest Melissa Atwood, told me that I have to try “Sabor” (flavor in Spanish) previously Daniela’s. So we went and sat at the chef counter and boy I tell you, it was incredible! And certainly worth a monthly trip to Plymouth. We were greeted by such beautiful, friendly and pleasant staff. We had incredible sangrias and ordered off the tapas menu - all of it, from Fig Stuffed Gorgonzola and Proscuito to Lollipop Lamb Chops which were melting in our mouths. There was great warm olive bread and the presentation was so flawless. Head Chef Jennifer Ingeme visited our counter and told us to try the Pina Colada Rum Cake; I died and went to heaven.
