Dear Publishers: Welcome to the first installment of Connecting the Dots, our new ShareThis newsletter. We are looking forward to staying connected so we can provide you with a deeper look into sharing data, the trends we see and tips we have for you. Not only will we send information out to you, we also hope this newsletter is a good discussion starter, creates some questions and brings new best practices to light. Please enjoy this first edition and feel free to provide feedback. Cheers, Tim Schigel, CEO, ShareThis, Inc.

Updates: Social Media Stats The following data illustrates the sharing percent of all sharing options offered.

The Share Index graph shows click-through (shares/pageviews) for different segments relative to the median rate for that publisher group. It helps us understand which segments share more content (health and news) as opposed to other segments (entertainment, sports, and video games). Note that an index score of 100 is the median for all publishers in the group.
For additional data please see the August 2008 blog post "Email is Still King"
Analytics Integration ShareThis will soon be rolling out the ability to tie your sharing data into your Omniture or Google Analytics account. We are excited about this new feature and we believe it will help you better analyze your web traffic. We will provide more information on this exciting update shortly.
Email Integration In response to several requests to include the ShareThis button in email marketing, we recently announced our partnership with Exact Target, one of the leaders in providing email marketing. This provides a more in-depth look at the sharing data across your site as well as through your email outreach programs. Contact us if you want to learn more about this capability.
