For those of us living in the Northern States or all across Canada, spring is a time for rebirth. And with it, comes a few rights of the season: the first flower, birds digging for worms on the front lawn, and that first 'air swing'.
What's an 'air swing'? This is a TeeTimes.net term, but I bet that you have done it too. You stand there looking out your office or living room window, staring fondly at the sunshine bringing springtime to life, while practicing your 'air' swing. It is kind of like the air guitar, but without the 80's hair and the rock music squelching in the background. With every spring 'air' swing, every shot is right down the fairway, or a perfect flop onto the green.
Another right of passage is the spring tee time -- either taking advantage of winter rates with spring-like conditions. Or in the more mild and desert climates, the twilight times that are normally too hot to play in. Today, we feature a few finds of the week.
Furry Creek Golf Course (Vancouver, BC)
Just 25-minutes north of Vancouver, this jewel of a course has rates starting at $49 right now. These rates are double that in mid-Summer. And with the eagles flying overhead and sunshine in the forecast for later this week, now is a perfect time to book your Furry Creek Tee Time.
Atlantic City Country Club (Atlantic City, NJ)
It is supposed to be sunny through Wednesday in Atlantic City, followed by a period of rain. This means that if you want to get a round in the sunshine in prior to the rates increasing, you should book your tee time now. Winter rates for the ACCC are still available ($65-$86) as opposed to the rates at the start of April ($99-$125). It is the same course, just a few days earlier.
La Quinta Resort - Dunes Course (Palm Springs, CA)
La Quinta Resort is a great example of good tee time rates that are available all across California, Nevada, Texas, and Florida. These are the afternoon tee times that might normally be too stifling due to the intense heat or humidity. But right now, they are downright pleasant. And with the sun not setting until approximately 7:00 for most of these areas, your 'twilight' rates still allow you to play a near complete round of golf at half the price. La Quinta's twilight rate is $79 while the daily rate is $149.
