MailChimp System Alert
Hi <<First Name>>,

Two big announcements in this System Alert:

1. We've got some server downtime scheduled this weekend, and
2. We just upgraded your MailChimp account to v3.4, and added a slew of new features (free).

Server Maintenance This Weekend

This Sunday, November 16: 2am - 6am EST (change time zone) we will be adding servers to our data center, and adding more memory to our dB servers. This is a major upgrade to improve overall system performance, and to handle the ever increasing load from new customers.

We strongly recommend that you NOT schedule any campaigns to go out during this period. If you've already scheduled campaigns for this period, please log in to MailChimp and re-schedule them now. The system will be completely off during the maintenance window.

New Features Went Live
This past weekend, we upgraded MailChimp to v3.4. The upgrade is automatic and free to all users. You'll see the changes in your account the next time you log in to MailChimp. Here's a quick rundown of some of the major new features...

Mobile-friendly Campaign Archives
Screenshot - Mobile BrowserWhenever you send an email campaign, and someone clicks the "View this in your browser" link (at the top of your template), we'll auto-detect whether or not they're connecting from a mobile device. Then, we'll redirect them to an automatically generated mobile-friendly version of your email campaign.

It's a really elegant solution, because you never have to create a totally separate "mobile version" of your campaign. And your subscribers don't have to specify "I want mobile emails" when they sign up for your lists. We can just tell if they're on a mobile device. Best of all, when they get back to their computer, the "full" version of your email is waiting for them in the inbox (instead of some stripped-down mobile version).

Magento, osCommerce, ZenCart Integration
Ecommerce IntegrationsIf you use Magento, osCommerce, or ZenCart as your website's shopping cart, you can now easily track how many subscribers clicked from your email campaign, went to your website, and bought stuff.

We'll show you who bought what, how much money they spent, and how much money your campaign made across all subscribers. No code snippets to add to your website, and no need to "tag" your email links. Just install a little plugin, turn it on in MailChimp, and you're done.

Auto-Designer for Email Templates
Color theme pickerNow, whenever you design a new email template in MailChimp, we give you a quick "jump start" to save you some time. MailChimp will visit your website and grab your logo. He'll also analyze your CSS file(s), looking for fonts, color specifications, etc.

Then, he'll use whatever he finds to automagically build your email template for you. It's a handy little timesaver. Of course, if you don't like what you see, you can push a button to override MailChimp's design and use your own.

We've also added some color themes for the artistically challenged. Plus, when you use our color palette to pick a color for your template, you'll see a new palette options consisting of colors we grabbed from your website. If you're wondering how we know where your website is, remember when you setup your list in MailChimp? You had to give us your website domain name, so that we could build your contact info.

That's it for now. We've got a few more upgrades planned for later this month, then we'll most likely avoid too many more upgrades and changes through the rest of the holiday season (if we can control ourselves).

Eep eep,
