Come to the Cabaret… in Freeport

Freeport’s first nightspot featuring live entertainment is now open. Aptly named, The Freeport Cabaret features jazz, comedy, singer- songwriters and performing artists – with gourmet appetizers, desserts, fine wines, coffees, teas and cocktails.

The cabaret tables and conversation-friendly atmosphere will make this a great spot to meet with friends after work, or for a full evening of food, drink and entertainment. Freeport Cabaret is located at 5 Depot Street. For more information call 207-865-1780, go to www.thefreeportcabaret.com

Desert of Maine open for the season…

Perhaps Maine’s most fabled natural phenomenon, The Desert of Maine, is now open. Just two miles from I-295 Exit 20 in busy Freeport, Maine, the glacial desert with sands that continue their natural shift even today fascinates 1000's. The Desert has been featured in Ripley's Believe It or Not, and was also a subject in Deserts of America, a Universal documentary.

The Desert of Maine is open 7 days a week now until October 18th. Hours are 8:30 until 5:30 with tours running from 9 am to 4:30 pm. For more information call 865-6962, go to www.desertofmaine.com

Coffee By Design opens Freeport location on Monday May 19th...

The newest location for the phenomenal Maine-based Coffee By Design will be in Freeport, right inside the L.L.Bean Flagship Store. Delicious.

Gift Certificate & CS Training Reminder...

As you hire new staff for the season, be sure to include FMA Gift Certificate information in their training. As an FMA member, you do take FMA Gift Certificates, which are in the form of a check, and you tender them just the same way you would a Travelers Check.

Other important customer service training points include... Making sure FMA Map & Guides are available for customers. The map also makes a good training tool to familiarize new staff with the town. Staff should know how to direct customers to the nearest public restrooms if none are available in your store. Area information can be found at FMA Info centers on Depot Street, Main Street (in summer) and at Town Hall and the Public Safety Building on Main Street.

Look for more helpful notes and orientation info available soon. As always, call the FMA office at 865-1212 for questions.
